Alan was personally responsible for the concept and detailed design of the ring-beam system at the subterranean multi-storey car park in Chester City Centre. This solution was essential for the retention of the superficial soils in order to prevent any movement of the neighbouring historical structures, including Roman and Medieval buildings.
